  With a 15:55 flight to New York out of Heathrow that boarded at 14:50, it would have been risky to attempt getting food near my hotel in South London before I made my way to the airport. Looking at the options, The Crown Rivers appeared to be the best food option in Terminal 5 and a last chance at authentic fish and chips before I made my way back across the pond. Crown Rivers is a seat-yourself kind of joint: you grab a "reserved" sign that you plop on your table on the way in, look over the menu at your seat, and either order at the bar or on the Wetherspoon app. Not in the mood to interact with anyone, I ordered and paid via the app, choosing the fish and chips along with a pint of London Pride.
  
  As promised, the fish and chips was at my table within 10 minutes. But unfortunately, my beer was not. I mention this to the waitress and she brings my beer over. Strike one. There was no malt vinegar on the tables, nor on surrounding tables, and wait staff was nowhere to be found after receiving my food and beer. Strike two. While plates were being cleared quickly, the restaurant seemed a bit dirty, with tables not being wiped down particularly well.
  
  For airport food, this was very good. Tasty fish and chips at a reasonable price, not much more expensive than it would be a pub in London. I paid less than £20 for my meal and the beer wasn't nearly as overpriced as I have come to expect at airport bars. The time between walking in and walking out was under 25 minutes, making this a nice place to grab a meal if you're in a rush before a flight. But the lackluster service and time required to get a simple beer ordered via the app (11 minutes!?) were a black mark on an otherwise good eating meal experience.

  Good place for a beer.  Eat somewhere else.  And don't order the "seafood" risotto. We dug a while in the rice in sauce to find any seafood and it was hard to find.  No exaggeration. The flavor itself wasn't horrible.
  
  I had the quinoa salad.  It wasn't horrible but the "pulled" chicken I added wasn't pulled chicken.  The avocado was so hard I am not sure how they cut it before putting it on the plate.
  
  The place looks very inviting.  But you order the food on an app or go to the bar.  The app didn't work because WiFi was weak.  
  
  There is NO service.  No wait staff other than the guy who plops the food on your table.

  After a long flight with another leg to go, I needed nourishment-the plane food as usual didn't cut it.
  
  Walked around and checked out a few places and went downstairs to the corner and stopped at Crown Rivers.
  
  It was busy and had an ample amount of tables/seating.  A good variety for breakfast and reasonably priced so let's give it a try.  
  
  You get your "reserved" table sign at the entrance, find an empty table and place your sign on it.  Make note of your table number and place your order with your table number at the bar.  They will bring your food out.
  The guy at the counter mentioned it will be about 20 minutes but I got my order in 10 which was a nice surprise.
  
  Settled on the Eggs Royale.  Eggs were poached perfectly and the Salmon was excellent!  Had to try the Lincolnshire Sausage so ordered a side and that was very good.  Nothing really special about the side order of hash browns (only item that felt like fast food)
  They also have a coffee machine with a variety of regular and speciality drinks.  I got a Flat White and must say it was excellent!
  
  Overall, service was very good & this meal was exactly what I needed to tackle  the next 10 hours in the air.

  Grabbed breakfast here since it's one of the better deals in the airport.  It's also one of the harder ones to find unless you are on that side of the airport or heading to the day use lounge.  
  
  The small breakfast was more than enough for me and the unlimited tea/coffee helps if you have a long layover.  I was a little confused by the fact that you have to order at the bar, or by app, before sitting down.  Since the coffee/tea area is centralized, you might want to make sure you don't leave anything at the table if you're running solo.

  This was definitely one of the better airport breakfasts I've had. You can order at the bar or there is an app you can download to order. I was just here for a short layover and the food came out quickly and there was also a screen nearby with the flight times. It was like 0700 so of course we had to get a beer, they had a variety of real ales on tap that weren't overly expensive, even for the airport which was a nice change. I had the small English breakfast which was a perfect size. It came with bacon, sausage, beans, a hash brown and a fried egg. Everything was pretty tasty. It was the perfect breakfast for a quick layover. I would definitely stop in again if I were at Heathrow.
